Champagne Women: Grace Titioka from With Some Grace

with some grace

I am all kinds of excited to welcome Grace to our Champagne Women hall of fame today. Grace was one of the first bloggers I ever met in real life, back when I thought bloggers were a little bit like rock stars (I know, we so are!) so I was a bit intimidated. But she was so incredibly warm and lovely that I felt like I’d known her almost immediately.

Grace and I share loads of things in common, not the least of which is that we like to punish ourselves by running a really long way for no apparent reason. Oh, also being really good looking, obvs.

Grace is a busy working mum of the most adorable twin boys you will ever see, she takes beautiful photographs, and she blogs at With Some Grace.

Take it away, Gracie!

What do you wish you had more of in your life?

Unfortunately, it’s the usual stuff that most mums crave for, nothing exciting – sleep and time.

Although, 24 hour access to all the current seasons of my favourite TV sitcoms like Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory would be nice too.

Hello Netflix, can you be here any sooner?

What do you wish you had less of?

The darn lego pieces, toy trains and dinosaurs that are strewn throughout the lounge room and mercilessly stab the soles of my feet!  The joys of raising twin boys…

What’s your favourite ‘me time’ activity?

Trip to the movies to watch latest chick flick (Anything starring Sandra Bullock or Jennifer Aniston. Go #TeamJen!).

On the very rare, indulgent occasion, I go Gold Class accompanied with glass of crisp cool Sauvignon Blanc and big bag of Salt & Vinegar chips. Yeah, baby!

When you can, you do it right.

What’s the best gift you’ve given yourself recently?

I have a gorgeous friend whose little boutique is a mere walking distance. A blessing and a curse for the purse! I often walk in to have a quick chat and end up leaving with an amazing outfit!

The other day I walked away with a romantic, flowy high neck sleeveless maxi dress that I plan to wear on our next date night.

Boom!

What’s your favourite song to belt out in the shower?

It’s usually something diva-ish like Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful”. Complete with shampoo bottle as microphone.

No reflection on the singer’s demeanour whatsoever.

You have a night off from the kids and unlimited funds: what do you do?

Book a private party on a big-arse yacht, invite all my friends and because most of them are interstate and overseas, pay for their travel and accommodation expenses.

Food and entertainment provided by a 10 piece funk band with unlimited champagne and canapés.

Who’s coming?

What’s the secret to striking a balance among your life’s competing priorities?

I’m still learning this one and often fudge it up but I think, I THINK, it’s less to do with balance and more to do with fluidity; going with the flow.

Sometimes, unforeseen circumstances throw priorities out of balance and in those situations, there’s no point in fighting against.  Surrender and acceptance takes the pressure off from getting everything right.

Do you have a favourite memory involving champagne?

My wedding day. I was 5 months pregnant and allowed myself a sneaky sip during our photo shoot. (No judgment!)  Overlooking Sydney Harbour at dusk with my new husband in tow, the subtle tingles from the champers perfectly accentuated the emotional bliss that day.
