Today we start on a new series we like to call Champagne Women, where have a bit of fun with some clever working mums we know and ask them how they take care of themselves in this crazy, chaotic working/parenting life. To kick of proceedings, who better to ask than the wise, witty and wonderful Mrs Woog of Woogsworld? We’re massive Woogettes around here, and we know lots of you are too. Enjoy!
What do you wish you had more of in your life?
I would like more kittens. I am desperate to get another cat, but Mr. Woog has put his foot down and has said absolutely no way. I call him the fun police. I want to get a ginger kitten and call him Lewis. So we could then have Chuy, Lewis and the Woogs. I would also like more willpower.
What do you wish you had less of?
Body fat. And wrinkles. And stress and mess. And I would like less people calling out to me from other parts of the house. Pisses me off.
What’s your favourite ‘me time’ activity?
Drinking wine with the gals on the couch, and laughing.
What’s the best gift you’ve given yourself recently?
This year I have decided that from now on, I am responsible for my own birthday presents and let me tell you, it may just be the best idea I have ever had. I splurged on the good stuff, all guilt free and it was FAB!
What’s your favourite song to belt out in the shower?
Either Hey Big Spender or You’re So Vain. Nothing to do with me, but they are just in my range and have some big notes to hit. Best done in the shower.
You have a night off from the kids and unlimited funds: what do you do?
Go to the QT Hotel in Sydney and order everything off the menu. Proceed to eat it all in bed with a bottle of wine and a good comedy movie to enjoy.
Do you have a favourite memory involving champagne?
All memories involving champagne are good, aren’t they?
I can be found in the laundry, folding laundry, sorting laundry and dropping off the dry cleaning.
I am mum to two boys, advisor to my husband and master of a cat and two guinea pigs. And a Siamese fighting fish called Stanley who appears to be constantly depressed (edited to add that since publication of this page, Stanley has passed).
I am a procrastinator, disorganised, avoider of conflict, scared of technology, an excellent interpretive dancer, an average cook and of course, a blogger.
Oh Mrs. Woog, you crack me up! And yes I would like less people yelling at me from different rooms too. An-noy-ing! Great series idea too Carolyn, looking forward to reading more.
Thanks J – me too!
It is the most irritating thing EVER!
Great idea! Favourite champagne memory – drinking lots then can’t remember anything!!!
Ooh, I sense a fun series coming on and what a mighty fine kick off. A fine champagne lady that Mrs Woog x
Thanks Bele – I’m so excited – so much wisdom to find!
Why thank you my love x
Great questions! I would love to sit on Mrs Woog’s couch and drink wine with her. The calling out from different parts of the house never goes away. Although my 21 year old son often texts me from the lounge (when I’m upstairs) to ask me what I’m cooking for dinner and that’s an improvement I suppose.
Why oh why can’t they just seek you out and deliver the question in the room?
One of the most natural wits I’ve ever come across is Mrs Woog! Great new series… when you run out of cool cats to interview send me an email, I’d love to get involved.
On like Donkey Kong, my friend!
Oh shes a good chick that Mrs Woogs. See the thing is about champagne memories is that the best ones I usually cant remember … because of the champagne. lol xx
I feel you, sister! xx
LOL! Woogsie! What a character! You’re So Vain is a great shower number. Especially when sung like Kate Hudson on “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” 🙂
I am so much better than she is…. Just saying!
I just had to go youtube that – wow, that’s a whole special brand of cringe!
