Friday fizz: bubbles of awesome from the web

Ahoy there, Champagne Gorgeousness! How was your week?

Things at Chateau Champagne have been settling back into ordinary as everyone returns to work, although school holidays mean I spend my work days being stared at by a nine year old who says, “Are you finished yet?” at 20-minute intervals.

But I have found time this week to do some surfing. Here’s what tickled me this week.

Lionel Stitchie – street art at its finest (and with the best name), thanks to Frankie Magazine.

The most dangerous word in the world – no shit, this is fucking amazing. If you click on no other link today, click on this. It will change the way you think about communication – both the way you speak to others, and how you respond to them.

Dear Kookai – An open letter (and giant middle finger salute) from a very healthy woman who couldn’t fit into a single item of their clothes. If you’ve ever shopped at Kookai and felt kind of bad about yourself, you are not alone.

If Lucy can't fit into Kookai's clothes, what hope is there for the rest of us?

Asshole asshole asshole – that feels much better Sonia from Love Life Hiccups provides the best rant about bad service I think I have ever read. The normally lovely Sonia lets loose on a particular company – and with outstandingly good reason. Read her rant and never fly with an airline that rhymes with Betstar. (In case you couldn’t figure it out from the title, if you are offended by a potty mouth, best skip to the next link.)

Chocolate chai oatmeal – Chocolate Covered Katie does it again – this time making oatmeal (or porridge if you’re not American) with chai and chocolate sauce and chocolate chips. It’s freezing cold where she is and she claims its a great antidote to that freezing temperatures, but I reckon it would go all right in balmy Brisbane right now too.

15 classy animals with moustaches (above) – because puppies and kittens and other cute critters. Check out the last one and tell me your blood doesn’t run cold.

Milkmaid braids by Hair Romance – a modern take on how to make milkmaid braids modern and totally cute. Love this lady’s work!

What bubbles of awesome tickled your nose this week? Share your favourite finds, or your own favourite work.
