Seriously Sexy Denim: Fabulous Flares

Flares.

Thoughts?

At our photoshoot the other day we were discussing flares with our photographer. She was thinking of buying a pair but a bit undecided. I was thrilled and drunk, and screaming at her that she HAS TO BUY THEM. Because she’s gorgeous, slim, very tall and does boho really well. Perfect for flares, right? Hells yeah.

I have a penchant for the flare. I’ve loved them since the day in 1979 I saw my mum rocking a pair (very similar to the pale blue Stella McCartney 70s flares pictured below) with a colourful button-up blouse and cork soled platforms. Sigh. So perfect. And no doubt I will continue to love them till the end of time. I think flares are actually very flattering. If you have a wide behind or are bigger on top, the flared leg balances you out. If you have lean bum and legs, they emphasise the good bits. They look especially fantastic on very tall lasses. Although I am somewhat height-challenged, I have massive norks, so for me these jeans are a great choice. But to get the best line from my flares, I always wear heels.

I reckon they are sexy as, perfect for night out at the discotheque or a lunch with the ladies.

Here’s some very easy ways to wear flares.

Tell me your thoughts on the flare. Only for losers?
Or a wee bit flattering and fabulous?
