Friday Fizz: bubbles of awesome from the web

What Cate Blanchett thinks of the ‘have it all’ debate – a cracking shellacking of the pressure the media puts on working mothers shared on Women’s Agenda.

Twitter was a pin to my excitable BAFTA balloon – British comedian Sarah Millican was thrilled to be nominated for a BAFTA last year – until she saw the blistering assessments of her dress on Twitter. Here is her awesome response.

The most dreamy writers’ studios around – shared on Facebook this week by fabulous writer Alison Tait. Something that those of us who crave solitude to do our work can aim for!  This nice specimen pictured above belonged to Mark Twain and you can visit it in upstate New York.

The definitive manifesto for handling haters: Ann Lamott on priorities and how we keep ourselves small by people pleasing – if you don’t click on any of the other links today, click on this one. It’s a fucking cracker. “What if you wake up some day, and you’re 65… and you were just so strung out on perfectionism and people-pleasing that you forgot to have a big juicy creative life?”

Sugar-free date loaf – the always marvellous Katie from Mumabytes has come up with a bloody delicious but not evil date loaf. Perfect for this type of weather. Slathering of butter is optional, but I’ll be doing it.

And for this week’s video, I am about as out of date as I could possible be – this came out in 2004. It’s about the end of the world and it’s hilarious. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favour. Thanks to the lovely Champagne Tara for bringing this one back out into the daylight this week.
