We have so much to thank these women for - 100 years of Planned Parenthood

As women of the modern age, we’ve always been able to take for granted the fact that we have control over our bodies. Yes, we’ve had to battle for the right to access safe and legal abortions (and we’re still not quite there in Queensland, and it’s looking further and further away, with Rob Pyne recently withdrawing his abortion bills from parliament – so seeking and procuring an abortion remains a crime), but when you look at what women had to go through 100 years ago, it will take your breath away.

This video to celebrate 100 years of Planned Parenthood in America made me want to punch the air, high five my nearest sister, and weep for all those lost women all at the same time. It was directed by Lena Dunham, and it features narration from some pretty awesome broads, such as Meryl Streep, America Ferrera, Hari Nef, Mindy Kaling and Jennifer Lawrence.

Watch it and feel all the feels.
