Bianca Wordley is indeed a wordley woman. An accomplished journalist, award-winning blogger and all round top chick. Not only does she have a delightful turn of phrase, she has an incredible capacity to share her feelings, thoughts and soul through her words, taking her readers far and wide on her travels through the ups and downs of life. She emanates warmth, humanity and humility. I honestly don’t think she knows how fantastic she is!
I have been a fan of Bianca’s work for quite some time but when we met, we clicked in a really beautiful way. Then we ran amok together at proBlogger and now I feel privileged to call this super-smart, scrummy lady my friend.
Bianca is a very busy but patient mum of three girls, and wife to a lucky bloke called Twiggy.
Take it away, B…
What do you wish you had more of in your life?
Depends on what day you ask me. Today, I wish I had more time to get all my work done, do some exercise and to spend more quality time with my kids. Tomorrow, I might say I want more wine in my glass and Maggie Beer pate.
What do you wish you had less of?
Less fat on my bum, thighs and belly. And less washing to put away – I hate washing.
What’s your favourite ‘me time’ activity?
I love roller skating. It makes me feel like a kid again. The wind in my hair, the dodgy eighties music and the laughter – everything about it is awesome. It’s a really great workout too.
What’s the best gift you’ve given yourself recently?
I’ve given myself a break. I’ve stopped hanging so much shit on myself. I’ve been trying to be kinder to myself. I’ve been making sure I stop, breathe deeply and think of all the fabulous things to be grateful for – instead of trying to be all the things to all of the people. It’s been an amazing gift to my state of mind.
What’s your favourite song to belt out in the shower?
At the moment it’s Shake It Off by Taylor Swift. My kids have it on repeat and I can’t get it out of my head. Secretly, I really like it.
But mostly I love singing anything by Guns N’ Roses – I mean who doesn’t? The song Patience is a masterpiece.
You have a night off from the kids and unlimited funds: what do you do?
I’d book flights interstate and a suite in a fancy-pants hotel for the night. My husband and I would go out for a long leisurely dinner, have a bath, have sex without fear of the kids coming into our room and sleep in. Perfect.
Do you have a favourite memory involving champagne?
When my husband proposed to me it was on a bushwalk at Daylesford. He’d secretly pre-planned everything. We stopped at this gorgeous lookout and he asked me to marry him. Then he pulled a bottle of Moet out of his backpack. It was super special and extra romantic. I’ll never forget it.

I agree – Bianca has absolutely no idea just how incredible she is…and maybe that’s why we love her so much? I too would like less f**king washing in my life – it’s seriously never ending! Another fantastic interview with another fabulous woman. x
What a mighty fine lady. Thank you for the intro!
Amen, to banishing Mt Washing-ton x
Bianca is one cool chick. I briefly got to chat to her at ProBlogger and wish I had longer to do so! Hopefully we will meet again one day.
Yeah, man, I really dig that Wordley woman too. I secretly envied her until I met her, and then after 500 wines I realised it wasn’t envy it was love.
OH MY GOSH. What a beautiful intro G and C. Far out it is super sweet. And the comments are also awesome. Feel very special. Thank you x
Because you are just a bit effing spesh, B! xx
Oh I am a big Bianca/Big Words fan too and GF, you had me at rollerskating to a rockin’ 80s soundtrack (I actually did rollerskating as an extra curricular activity in primary school) and I also went to see GnR live at Calder Park in ’93. Lady, I love your work. We could also make a Brady Bunch with your 3 girls and my 3 boys. How 80s would that be! Thanks Carolyn for featuring this fine woman! x
Thanks Vanessa – how could I not? She’s amazing. Love her, love her work. xxx
Love this! A lovely interview and fab answers. And now I have Shake It Off in my head too!
I love that song! It’s one of my favourite running songs – I always feel fabulous and fit and strong and I tend to be running down major hills when it comes on.
